You need Contactor HN51KC024 if you're having trouble with the compressor or fan motor on your air conditioner, furnace, heat pump, or air handler. This genuine OEM single-pole, 24-volt coil contactor has a full load amps (FLA) rating of 30 amps and a locked rotor amps (LRA) rating of 150 amps.

Condenser Fan Motor

Furnace flame sensor. The flame sensor monitors the burner to detect whether or not a flame is present. If the flame sensor is defective, the furnace may not heat.

Heat pump not cooling

To determine if the condenser motor is working, use a multimeter to test the incoming voltage to the motor. If the condenser fan motor is receiving the correct voltage but the motor still won’t run, inspect the capacitor to ensure that it is not at fault. If the capacitor is not bulging or leaking, replace the condenser fan motor.

Heat pump not heating

Heat pump is noisy or loud

The condenser fan motor has bearings that can wear out over time. When the bearings are worn out, they make loud noise. To check the bearings, try rotating the condenser fan motor by hand. If the motor does not turn smoothly, replace it.

Heat pump coils frosting up

Since the condenser fan motor is the component that circulates the air through unit to cool it, a defective motor could result in the coils frosting up. You can use a multimeter to test the condenser fan motor for electrical continuity, a continuous electrical path present in the motor, as well as determine if power is reaching the motor. You can also try turning the fan blade by hand. If the blade does not turn freely, it's likely the motor bearings have seized and the motor will need to be replaced.

Heat pump is frequently cycling/short cycling

A faulty condenser fan motor could cause the heat pump to short cycle. To determine if the condenser motor is working, use a multimeter to test the incoming voltage to the motor. If the condenser fan motor is receiving the correct voltage but the motor still won’t run, inspect the capacitor to ensure that it is not at fault. If the capacitor is not bulging or leaking, replace the condenser fan motor.

Heat pump circuit breaker keeps tripping

If the outdoor heat pump unit's breaker or fuses keep tripping the condenser fan motor may be to blame. To determine if the fan motor is shorted, use a multimeter to test the motor windings for a short to ground. If the fan motor blades will not turn freely, or the windings are shorted, replace the condenser fan motor.
