Electric stove burner won't turn off

The GE Appliances Burner Knob WB03K10141 is a high quality replacement part that allows for control of surface burner heat. It has a 2 inch diameter and replaces multiple part numbers. Disconnect the appliance from all utilities prior to installation. Consult the owner's manual for instructions.

If a range's surface element won't turn off, you should first inspect the control knob for damage. A broken knob may be unable to rotate the surface element switch stem to stop voltage being sent to the element.

Gas stove burner won't turn off

If the burner control knob is cracked or broken it may not be turning the gas valve stem. Inspect the knob for any damage and replace if necessary.

Gas stove burner not heating properly

If a burner flame is not changing as expected when the burner valve control knob is turned from low to high, it's possible the knob is stripped out or damaged and unable to rotate the valve stem. Inspect the knob for any cracks or wear and replace if necessary.

Stove/oven controls don't work

A stove control knob needs to be able to engage and rotate the switch or valve stem for that control to work. If the knob is cracked or stripped out and just slips on the stem a new knob will need to be installed to properly engage the switch or valve.

Broiler pan The broiler pan that comes with most range/ovens is porcelain-coated steel. Clean it with a non-abrasive cleanser. If you want to replace the broiler pan instead, we offer one called the Broiler Pan and Insert. Control panel Most range/oven control panels are glass and/or painted metal. You can safely use non-abrasive cleaners on these surfaces. We offer a wide selection of range/stove/oven cleaner and deodorizer parts. Note: Never spray cleaners directly onto the control panel. Instead, put some cleaner on a soft, damp rag, then wipe the surface. Cooktop: You can clean any porcelain cooktop with a non-abrasive cleanser. Burner drip pans (bowls): You usually need to replace the drip pans or bowls beneath the grates on a gas stove/range and beneath the heating element on an electric stove/range every 2 to 3 years.
