Refrigerator not cooling

Seal in performance with this genuine OEM door gasket, part number ADX73350968, designed for select LG Refrigerator models.

A refrigerator door gasket should form an airtight seal around the appliance's frame to keep the cold air in and the warm air out. If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, resulting in the refrigerator not cooling properly. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and replace with a new one if necessary.

Refrigerator not defrosting

A twisted or worn gasket can keep the door from closing properly. Inspect the door gasket for kinks or twists. You can use a hair dryer to try smoothing out the kinks. If the door gasket is damaged it will need to be replaced.

Refrigerator freezer is cold but refrigerator is warm

A refrigerator door gasket should form an airtight seal around the appliance's frame to keep the cold air in and the warm air out. If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, resulting in the refrigerator compartment being warm even though the freezer compartment is cold. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and replace with a new one if necessary.

Refrigerator leaking water

If a refrigerator is leaking water outside the appliance, it's possible a door gasket is damaged. A door gasket that does not form a proper seal to the refrigerator frame will allow warm humid air to enter the refrigerator or freezer compartment. This can create condensation which can then leak out the gap between the gasket and frame onto the floor. You should inspect the door gasket for any tears or twists and replace the gasket if necessary.

Refrigerator runs constantly

If the Refrigerator runs constantly the door gasket may be torn or defective, or if the door is not shutting tightly warm air can enter the the refrigerator and cause the evaporator coils to ice over. This happens because humid air from the room is drawn into the refrigerator through the opening at the gasket. As the humidity comes in contact with the cold evaporator coils it condenses and freezes. Normally the defrost system removes this frost and ice. However, if the door gasket is defective the evaporator coils ice over too quickly and the defrost cycle cannot keep up.

Refrigerator door not opening/closing properly

A twisted or worn gasket can keep the door from closing properly. Inspect the door gasket for kinks or twists. You can use a hair dryer to try smoothing out the kinks. If the door gasket is damaged it will need to be replaced.

Refrigerator freezer not freezing

A freezer door gasket should form an airtight seal around the appliance's frame to keep the cold air in and the warm air out. If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, resulting in the freezer not freezing properly. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and replace with a new one if necessary.

Refrigerator freezer door or drawer not opening/closing properly

Refrigerator has frost or ice buildup

A twisted or worn gasket can keep the door from closing properly which can cause frost or ice buildup in the freezer or refrigerator compartments. Inspect the door gasket for kinks or twists. You can use a hair dryer to try smoothing out the kinks. If the door gasket is damaged it will need to be replaced.

If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, resulting in the freezer not freezing properly. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and replace with a new one if necessary.

Refrigerator door(s) misaligned

Ice Maker in refrigerator compartment frosting up

A door gasket should form an airtight seal around the appliance's frame to keep the cold air in and the warm air out. If the door gasket is twisted or torn, gaps can form that will allow warm air in, which can result in frost building up on the ice maker compartment. Inspect the door gasket for any damage and replace with a new one if necessary.
