Range vent hood fan or blower not working

Keep air moving with this genuine OEM fan motor, part number 00679493, designed for select Bosch Range Vent Hood or Range/Stove/Ovens.

Usually, when the blower motor hums but does not turn, it indicates that the motor shaft bearings are worn out. Some older, larger motors have oil spouts. If your motor has oil spouts, try adding oil to the motor bearings to get the fan to turn freely. If lubricating the motor bearings does not solve the problem, or if the motor can’t be lubricated, replace the fan motor.

Range vent hood motor is loud or noisy

The fan motor bearings might be worn out. To determine if the motor bearings are worn out, try wiggling the motor shaft back and forth. The motor shaft should not move at all. If the motor shaft moves even by a slight amount, the motor bearings are worn out. Some older, larger motors have oil spouts. If your motor has oil spouts, try adding oil to the motor bearings to get the fan to turn freely. If lubricating the motor bearings does not solve the problem, or if the motor can’t be lubricated, replace the exhaust fan motor.

Oven fan not working

If the fan motor's fan blades do not turn freely by hand, it's likely the motor bearings have seized and the fan motor will need to be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to determine if the motor has electrical continuity. If the motor has no electrical continuity, the part is definitely defective.

Range making a loud noise

The fan motor turns the fan blade to circulate the air. The fan motor is often sold as an assembly. If the fan motor bearings are bad, or the fan blade or blower is damaged, the fan motor will need to be replaced. 

Range vent hood turns off by itself

If the fan motor has power to it but keeps shutting off, the windings or bearings may be bad. Try turning the fan blade by hand. If the fan blade does not turn freely, or the motor keeps shutting off when it has power to it, the fan motor will need to be replaced.
