Electric stove burner won't turn off

If a range's surface element won't turn off, you should first inspect the control knob for damage. A broken knob may be unable to rotate the surface element switch stem to stop voltage being sent to the element.

Gas stove burner won't turn off

If the burner knob is cracked or broken it may not be turning the gas valve stem. Inspect the knob for any damage and replace if necessary.

Stove/oven controls don't work

A stove control knob needs to be able to engage and rotate the switch or valve stem for that control to work. If the knob is cracked or stripped out and just slips on the stem a new knob will need to be installed to properly engage the switch or valve.

The self-cleaning feature works by heating the interior of the oven to a temperature so hot that it incinerates the residue inside the oven. Normally, it is not a good idea to clean the interior of a self-cleaning oven with a spray cleaner; however, refer to your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer of your oven for further information. To clean a non-self-cleaning oven, use one of the many oven cleaners that are available at grocery and hardware stores. Solid burner element: Some stove/ranges have heating element burners that are solid metal--there's no coil, and the stove/range isn't glass or ceramic. You can clean these solid burners using our Solid Surface Element Cleaner.
