Range vent hood fan or blower not working

Vent air with this genuine OEM vent fan motor, part number W11123949, made for select Jenn Air Range Vent Hoods.

Usually, when the vent fan motor hums but does not turn, it indicates that the motor shaft bearings are worn out. Some older, larger motors have oil spouts. If your motor has oil spouts, try adding oil to the motor bearings to get the fan to turn freely. If lubricating the motor bearings does not solve the problem, or if the motor can’t be lubricated, replace the exhaust fan motor.

Range vent hood motor is loud or noisy

Usually, when the vent fan motor is noisy, it indicates that the motor shaft bearings are worn out. Some older, larger motors have oil spouts. Range vent hood turns off by itself

If the vent fan motor is running for awhile, but then shuts off, the motor windings  or bearings may be bad, causing the motor to overheat. First check to see that the fan turns freely. If the fan turns freely but the motor keeps shutting off, the motor may be bad and will need to replaced.
