We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.

Now lift up the hood and use a 3/8th inch socket to help unthread the fuel tank mounting bolts.

With the bolts removed, set the tank aside.
5
Use a quarter inch socket or nut driver to unthread the mounting screws securing the throttle control.
6
Now rotate the control to remove it from the steering housing.

Next, use a 5/16th inch socket or nut driver to loosen the screw securing the cable retainer.

Install the new throttle control by first inserting the cable into the slide.
