Tools needed: 3/16" drill bit
Step-By-Step Instructions1
The mounting hardware in this kit is for the installation of a three-quarter inch wood panel.
2
Align the template provided with your dishwasher to the backside of the custom panel.
3
Make sure the center of the template is aligned with the center of the panel and the top is aligned with the panel’s top edge then use tape to attach the template.
4
Mark the four pilot holes on the panel as indicated on the template.
5
Using a 3/32nd inch drill bit, pre-drill the four pilot holes.
6
The holes should be no more than 5/8th of an inch deep.
7
You can use tape to mark the drill bit to gauge the hole depth.
8
Now attach the four plastic studs to the panel using 5/16th inch hex-head screws.
9
Confirm that the seal strips are right-side up and that the holes align with the key-hole slots in the dishwasher’s metal door panel.
10
The seal strips should not overhang the metal panel on the top, bottom or sides.
11
Remove the backing and accurately align the two seal strips on the metal panel.
12
Slide the panel down until the top of the wood panel is flush with the top of the control panel.
13
Gently slide the dishwasher part way into the cabinet to prevent it from tipping over.
14
Now open the door and unthread the two short screws at the top.
15
Confirm that the top edges of the custom panel and the control panel are aligned then drill one-and-a-half inch pilot holes into the top corners of the door using the 3/32nd inch drill bit.
16
Again, you can apply tape to mark the bit to gauge the hole depth.
17
Now using a t-15 torx bit, thread the one-and-three-eights inch screws into the corners to secure the custom panel.
18
Remove the short door screws second from the bottom on the left and right sides.
19
As with the top corners, drill one-and-a-half inch pilot holes.
20
You may need a longer drill bit to avoid hitting the side of the inner door panel.
21
Install the two remaining one-and-three-eights inch screws.
22
With the custom panel fully secured, confirm that the dishwasher door opens and closes properly.
