6
…be sure to shut off the power to the unit.
7
Detach the venting from the backdraft damper.
8
Unthread the four screws securing the vent box cover.
9
Slide the cover up to detach.
10
Cut the zip tie to release the blower assembly power cable…
11
…then disconnect the cable.
12
Now support the bottom of the vent box…
13
…and unthread the seven screws on the top and sides securing the vent box to the plenum.
14
With the screws unthreaded, carefully lift the vent box and blower assembly off of the two bottom shoulder screws and away from the cabinet.
15
You can now remove the nut securing the upper arm to the lower arm.
16
Use a 10mm socket to rotate the nut clockwise to loosen then fully unthread the nut.
17
Now use a t-20 torx bit to unthread the four screws securing the drive motor and switch mounting plate to the plenum.
18
Flip the plate over…and rotate the lower arm to access the set screws.
19
Use a 5/64th inch allen wrench to loosen the set screws.
20
Now rotate the lower arm until the notch in the cam is aligned with the white plastic actuator…
21
…and you can pull the old arm straight up to remove.
22
Prepare the new lower arm for installation…
23
…by partially threading the old set screws into the arm.
24
Apply some white lithium grease to both sides of the cam as well as on the opposite end of the arm.
25
Now align the new lower arm on the motor shaft…then rotate the arm until the notch in the cam aligns with the white plastic actuator.
26
Confirm that the arm is fully seated…
27
…then tighten the set screws.
28
Rotate the arm so it’s facing downward…then reposition the drive motor and switch assembly mounting plate on the plenum.
29
Thread the four screws to secure the plate.
30
Align the lower arm with the upper arm then thread the nut counter-clockwise…
32
Reinstall the vent box and blower assembly by first feeding the power cable through the rear of the box.
33
Align the bottom edge of the box on the shoulder screws.
35
…then rethread and tighten the seven screws to hold the box in place.
36
Reconnect the blower assembly power cable…
37
…and use a zip tie to secure the cable.
38
Reinstall the vent box cover by positioning it over the shoulder screws and sliding it down.
39
Thread and tighten the screws to secure.
40
Reattach the venting to the damper.
41
With the repair completed…
42
…turn the power supply back on…
43
