1
As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning and turn off the hot and cold water supply valves.
2
Your first step is to remove the hoses from the old inlet valve.
3
Be prepared for some water to spill out.
4
Next, use tape to secure the washer lid.
5
Now, loosen the screws at the back of the control panel and rotate the panel up.
6
Depress the tab to release the user interface connector and set the control panel aside.
7
Your next step is to use a putty knife to release the retaining clips securing the main top.
8
The clips are located approximately six and a half inches in from each side of the washer.
9
Rotate the main top upward and support it.
10
Use pliers to loosen the clamps securing the water inlet and dispenser valve hoses and pull the hoses off.
11
Again, be prepared for some water to spill.
12
Remove the support and lower the main top.
13
Note the orientation of the wires, then lift the tabs to detach the wire connectors.
14
Unsnap the power cord strain relief and set the cord aside.
15
Then, disconnect the thermistor wire.
16
Next, remove the mounting screws and pull the old water inlet valve out of the rear panel.
17
You're now ready to install the new water inlet valve.
18
Position the new valve and secure it with the mounting screws.
19
Connect the thermistor wire and realign the power cord by snapping the strain relief into place.
20
Now, attach the wire connectors to the new valve.
21
Lift the main top back up and support it.
22
Reattach the water inlet and dispenser valve hoses and secure them with the clamps.
23
Remove the support, rotate the main top down, and snap it into place.
24
Remove the tape securing the lid.
25
Reconnect the user interface connector and reposition the control panel.
26
Tighten the mounting screws and attach the hoses to the new inlet valve.
27
Turn the water supply back on and plug the appliance back in to make sure it's functioning properly.
