To replace the flange washer on your string trimmer, align the slot in the washer with the slot in the gearcase and insert a small flathead screwdriver.

You can now rotate the trimmer head clockwise to detach the head and remove the old washer.

Install the new flange washer by aligning it on the head, then thread the head on counterclockwise.

Align the slots, insert the screwdriver, then rotate the head to lock it into place.
