Step-By-Step Instructions1
As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning.
2
Your first step is to insert a putty knife under the main top to release the two spring clips securing the front panel.
3
Pull the front panel forward and lift up to remove.
4
Now, note the position of the motor and mode shifter wires on the motor board…then disconnect them.
5
Use pliers to squeeze the end of the motor wire retainer to release the wires from the motor frame.
6
Slide the belt off the drive pulley and remove it from the motor drive shaft.
7
Remove the motor mounting nuts.
8
Be aware you will need to tip the motor forward in order to completely remove the rear mounting nuts
9
You can now lift the old motor off of the mounting bracket.
10
Install the new drive motor…
11
…by positioning it on the mounting bracket.
12
Secure it with the mounting nuts.
13
As before, you will need to tip the motor forward as you replace the rear mounting nuts.
14
You next step is to replace the belt.
15
To do this, zip-tie the belt to the right side of the pulley with the flat side facing outward.
16
You can slide a belt install tool onto the motor shaft to make installation easier.
17
Now, loop the belt onto the motor shaft…
18
…and rotate the drive pulley counter-clockwise to help fully align the belt.
19
With the belt installed, you can remove the zip-tie…and the install tool if applicable.
20
Snap the wire retainer into the motor base.
21
Connect the motor wires to the new motor board.
22
Connect the mode shifter wire as well.
23
Reposition the front panel…
24
…by aligning the tabs on the base with the slots at the bottom of the panel.
25
Align the pins on the front of the cabinet with the holes in the front panel…
26
…and snap the panel into position.
27
You’re now ready to plug the power cord back in…
28
…and confirm that the appliance is functioning properly.
