Step By Step Instructions

1
To replace the vent gasket in this kitchenaid dishwasher, you will need a t-15 torx bit and needle-nose pliers.
2
Before you begin the procedure, turn off the power to the dishwasher.
3
Open the dishwasher door, and use the t-15 torx bit to unthread the eight side screws and the top right screw holding the inner and outer door panels together.
4
Unthread the top right door latch screw last.
5
With the screws unthreaded, you can lift the outer door panel up to detach.
6
Disconnect the user interface wire connecter and detach the wire retainer so you can set the outer door panel aside.
7
Disconnect the vent assembly wire connecter.
8
Next, open the door and use the needle-nose pliers to rotate the vent bezel counter-clockwise to detach.
9
You can now remove the vent assembly… and lift out the old vent gasket.
10
To install the new vent gasket, keep the grooved-side up as you press it into place in the channel on the vent assembly.
11
Reposition the assembly on the inner door panel and secure it with the bezel by rotating it clockwise.
12
Connect the wire connecter.
13
Reinstall the outer door panel by first connecting the user interface wire connecter and securing the wire retainer.
14
Make sure the console seal is in place, then slide the side edges of the outer panel behind the retaining brackets, then lift the panel up to join it with the inner door panel.
15
Rethread the screws to secure.
16
The top right door latch screw should be threaded first.
17
That screw and the two upper side screws are longer than the six remaining side screws.
18
With all the screws secured, turn the power supply back on, and the dishwasher should be ready for use.
