Bryant Air conditioner not blowing enough

01 - Bryant Air Conditioner Condenser Fan Motor

To determine if the condenser fan motor is working, use a multimeter to test the incoming voltage to the motor. If the condenser fan motor is receiving the correct voltage, but the motor still won’t run, you should inspect the capacitor, if applicable, for any bulging or leaking. You can also use a multimeter to determine if the capacitor can hold and release its charge. If the capacitor appears to be in good condition, replace the condenser fan motor.

02 - Bryant Air Conditioner Dual Shaft Fan Motor

An air conditioner dual shaft fan motor is the component that spins both the condenser fan blade in the rear of the unit and the fan blade that forces the cooled air out the front vent. If the fan motor is burned out, the unit will not be able to blow enough air. You can use a multimeter to determine if power is reaching the fan motor. If power is reaching the motor, but it doesn't run, the component will need to be replaced.

03 - Bryant Air Conditioner Fan Motor

An air conditioner fan motor is the component that spins the fan blade or blower wheel to circulate the air. If one of the fan motors is burned out, the unit will not be able to blow enough air. You can use a multimeter to determine if power is reaching the fan motor. If power is reaching the motor, but it doesn't run, the component will need to be replaced.

04 - Clogged or Restricted Coils

Both the indoor and outdoor coils need to be clear for the air conditioner to work efficiently. A clogged or restricted coil will reduce air flow causing the unit to run longer.

05 - Bryant Air Conditioner Air Filter

If the air filter is clogged, air cannot flow properly through the air conditioner. This greatly reduces the cooling capacity of the air conditioner. In addition, if the air filter is clogged, the evaporator coils will frost over. Most air filters used in stand-alone air conditioners can be cleaned with soap and water. Only filters that are extremely clogged with debris or damaged will need to be replaced.

06 - Dirty or Damaged Air Filter

If the air filter becomes clogged with dirt, it restricts air flow over the evaporator coils. If the air flow is reduced, the evaporator coils get too cold, which then causes the humidity in the room to condense on the coils and freeze. As frost accumulates on the coils, the frost restricts the air flow even more. Eventually, the entire evaporator coil assembly will frost over, causing the air flow to be completely restricted. Most air filters used in stand-alone air conditioners can be cleaned with soap and water. Only filters that are extremely clogged with debris or damaged will need to be replaced.
