Thermador Microwave won't turn off

If your Thermador microwave won't turn off, keeps running, or the fan won't turn off after you press Cancel, the most likely cause is a defective door switch. Most microwaves use three or four door switches, including primary, secondary, and monitor switches, that activate in sequence when the door closes. A failed switch can allow the fan to run when the door is open or prevent the microwave from responding correctly. Next, the cancel button may not be activating because the user control and display board, touchpad and control panel, or touchpad is defective. If some buttons work but others do not, suspect the touchpad or control panel. If none respond correctly, the user control and display board is more likely. A less common cause is a shorted relay or triac on the main control board, which can keep components powered after the controls are turned off.
