Universal Microwave won't turn off

Won’t your Universal microwave turn off? Keeps running, or the fan stays on after you press Cancel or open the door, a failed door switch is the most likely cause. Microwaves use three or four switches, including the primary, secondary, and monitor or interlock switches, to confirm that the door is closed. A shorted switch can allow the fan to run when the door is open and requires testing with a multimeter for continuity. If the door switch is working, the user control and display board may not be registering the Off button. When some buttons respond but others do not, the touchpad and control panel or touchpad may be defective. If components continue running after the controls are turned off, a stuck relay or triac on the main control board may be supplying power. Most microwaves have three or four door switches. When the microwave door closes, the door switches actuate in sequence to ensure that the door is closed properly.
