Universal Oven shuts off on its own

When your Universal oven turns off by itself, start by checking the touchpad. Buttons that respond intermittently or not at all usually point to a faulty touchpad that needs replacement. A thermal fuse is another possible cause, especially if the oven overheated, although it is less common. Test the fuse with a multimeter for continuity. A blown thermal fuse cannot be reset and must be replaced, and the oven may not heat afterward. If some touchpad buttons work while others do not, the touchpad and control panel may be defective. If no buttons respond, the control board is more likely at fault. Also check for a tripped circuit breaker or another incoming power problem. If those checks do not solve why your oven keeps turning off, inspect the control board and main control board for loose or burned connections, failed relays, or other damage. 02 - Universal Range/Stove/Oven Thermal Fuse

If the oven gets too hot, the thermal fuse trips to shut off power to the oven. If the thermal fuse has blown, the oven will not heat. However, this is not a common occurrence. To determine if the thermal fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test the fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity, replace it. The thermal fuse cannot be reset—if the fuse has blown, it must be replaced.
