Admiral Oven light not turning off

If your Admiral oven light won't turn off, the light switch is the most likely cause. This switch sends power to the oven light, and a shorted switch can keep the light on even when the control is set to off. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter, and replace it if it shows continuity in the off position. If the oven light stays on when you press the button, the touchpad and control panel may not be registering the command. Test the other control buttons. If some respond and others do not, replace the defective touchpad or control panel. A shorted oven control board can also leave the light on after the light switch is off. Less commonly, a door hinge that prevents the door from closing tightly, or a shorted door switch, can cause the same problem. Check that the Admiral range, stove, or oven door closes fully and does not open past 90 degrees. Enter your model number to find the exact replacement light switch, touchpad, control panel, control board, door hinge, or door switch for your appliance.

02 - Admiral Range/Stove/Oven Touchpad and Control Panel

If the light is not turning off when the button is pressed, the button may not be activating. To determine if the touchpad and control panel are defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons respond correctly while others don’t, replace the touchpad and control panel.
Common

03 - Admiral Range/Stove/Oven Touchpad

If the light is not turning off when the button is pressed, the button may not be activating. To determine if the touchpad is defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons respond correctly while others don’t, replace the touchpad.
Common

04 - Admiral Range/Stove/Oven Control Board

The oven light often gets its power from the control board. If the control board is shorted the light can stay on. If the light switch is in the off position, but the light stays on, the control board has likely shorted and will need to be replaced.
Less Common

05 - Admiral Range/Stove/Oven Door Hinge

If the door isn't closing properly the light switch may not be actuated, keeping the light on. Check to see that the door is closing tight. If the door opens past 90 degrees, the door hinges are likely bent and will need to be replaced.
Less Common

06 - Admiral Range/Stove/Oven Door Switch

On some models, the door switch controls when the oven light is turned on and off. If the door switch has shorted the light may stay on. You can test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. If the switch shows continuity even in the off position, the switch has shorted and will need to be replaced.
Uncommon But Possible
