Dacor Oven light not turning off

When your Dacor oven light won't turn off, the light switch is the most likely cause. A shorted range/stove/oven light switch can continue sending power to the bulb even when the switch is in the off position. Test the switch for continuity with a multimeter and replace it if it shows continuity while off. If the switch checks out, the touchpad and control panel may not be registering the light button, especially if some control buttons respond and others do not. A defective touchpad alone can cause the same problem. The Dacor oven control board is another possible cause because it often supplies power to the oven light and may have a shorted relay. Less commonly, a bent door hinge may prevent the door from closing tightly enough to activate the light switch. On some models, a shorted door switch can also keep the oven light on. Before ordering, enter your model number to find the exact replacement part for your Dacor range, stove, or oven, including the correct light switch, touchpad, control panel, control board, door hinge, or door switch.

01 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Light Switch

The light switch sends power to the light. If the light switch is shorted the light will stay on. You can test the light switch for continuity with a multimeter. If the light switch shows continuity even in the off position, the switch is bad and will need to be replaced.

02 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Touchpad and Control Panel

If the light is not turning off when the button is pressed, the button may not be activating. To determine if the touchpad and control panel are defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons respond correctly while others don’t, replace the touchpad and control panel.
Common

03 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Touchpad

If the light is not turning off when the button is pressed, the button may not be activating. To determine if the touchpad is defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons respond correctly while others don’t, replace the touchpad.
Common

04 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Control Board

The oven light often gets its power from the control board. If the control board is shorted the light can stay on. If the light switch is in the off position, but the light stays on, the control board has likely shorted and will need to be replaced.
Less Common

05 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Door Hinge

If the door isn't closing properly the light switch may not be actuated, keeping the light on. Check to see that the door is closing tight. If the door opens past 90 degrees, the door hinges are likely bent and will need to be replaced.
Less Common

06 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Door Switch

On some models, the door switch controls when the oven light is turned on and off. If the door switch has shorted the light may stay on. You can test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. If the switch shows continuity even in the off position, the switch has shorted and will need to be replaced.
Uncommon But Possible
