If your Norge oven probe is not working, the meat thermometer not working symptom usually starts with the meat probe itself. The probe's resistance changes as its temperature changes, so test it with a multimeter and replace it if it shows an open circuit. If the probe tests good, the range control board is the next likely cause, especially if the oven shows a probe error or does not respond when the probe is connected. A defective door switch can also prevent the oven thermometer from operating because some models require the door to be closed before the control board reads the probe. Test the switch for electrical continuity when actuated. Next, inspect the probe jack or receptacle for corrosion, damage, or poor contact, and replace it if needed. An oven control board may be the cause when the probe and receptacle are good but the temperature reading still does not register. Disconnect power before testing or replacing parts. Enter your Norge range, stove, or oven model number to find the exact replacement meat probe, receptacle, door switch, or control board for your appliance.
01 - Norge Range/Stove/Oven Meat Probe
The meat probe resistance changes with the temperature of the probe. If the probe shows an open circuit when tested with a multimeter, the probe is bad and will need to be replaced.

When the probe is plugged into the jack, the control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
Some oven meat thermometers will not function properly unless the oven door is closed which activates a door switch to alert the control board that the door is closed. If the door switch is defective, the oven meat thermometer may not work. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.
The meat probe jack or receptacle needs to be clean and making good contact with the meat probe. If the receptacle appears corroded or damaged, the component should be replaced.
When the probe is plugged into the jack, the oven control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
