Is your Samsung oven probe not working? The meat thermometer may show an error, fail to display the food temperature, or remain unresponsive when plugged in. The most likely cause is a defective meat probe. The probe's resistance should change as its temperature changes, so test it with a multimeter and replace it if it shows an open circuit. If the probe tests good, the Samsung range control board may not be reading the signal from the probe jack, making the control board the next likely cause. A faulty door switch can also prevent the oven thermometer from working because some Samsung ovens require the door to be closed before the control board activates the probe. Test the switch for continuity when actuated. Finally, inspect the probe receptacle for corrosion, damage, dirt, or loose contact, and check the oven control board if the probe and receptacle are good. Whether you need an oven probe, meat thermometer, receptacle, door switch, or control board, enter your Samsung range model number to find the exact replacement part for your appliance.
01 - Samsung Range/Stove/Oven Meat Probe
The meat probe resistance changes with the temperature of the probe. If the probe shows an open circuit when tested with a multimeter, the probe is bad and will need to be replaced.

When the probe is plugged into the jack, the control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
Some oven meat thermometers will not function properly unless the oven door is closed which activates a door switch to alert the control board that the door is closed. If the door switch is defective, the oven meat thermometer may not work. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.
The meat probe jack or receptacle needs to be clean and making good contact with the meat probe. If the receptacle appears corroded or damaged, the component should be replaced.
When the probe is plugged into the jack, the oven control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
