If your IKEA oven probe is not working, the display shows a probe error, or the meat thermometer does not register the food temperature, start with the meat probe. The probe resistance should change as its temperature changes. Test it with a multimeter, and replace the probe if it shows an open circuit. If the probe tests good, inspect the oven control board, which reads the probe's resistance and displays the temperature. A failed control board can cause the oven probe not working symptom even when the probe is connected correctly. Next, test the door switch for electrical continuity when activated. Some IKEA ovens will not operate the oven thermometer unless the door switch signals that the door is closed. Also check the probe jack, or receptacle, for corrosion, damage, dirt, or loose contact, and replace it if needed. An oven control board may also be at fault if the probe and receptacle are working but the temperature is not detected. Disconnect power before testing or replacing parts. Enter your IKEA oven model number to find the exact replacement meat probe, receptacle, door switch, or control board for your specific range or oven.
01 - Ikea Range/Stove/Oven Meat Probe
The meat probe resistance changes with the temperature of the probe. If the probe shows an open circuit when tested with a multimeter, the probe is bad and will need to be replaced.

When the probe is plugged into the jack, the control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
Some oven meat thermometers will not function properly unless the oven door is closed which activates a door switch to alert the control board that the door is closed. If the door switch is defective, the oven meat thermometer may not work. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.
The meat probe jack or receptacle needs to be clean and making good contact with the meat probe. If the receptacle appears corroded or damaged, the component should be replaced.
When the probe is plugged into the jack, the oven control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
