When your Dacor oven probe is not working, the display may show a probe error, fail to detect the meat thermometer, or provide inaccurate food temperature readings. The most likely cause is a defective meat probe. Its resistance should change as the probe temperature changes, and an open circuit on a multimeter test means the probe needs replacement. If the probe tests good, the Dacor oven control board may not be reading the signal correctly. Next, check the oven door switch, since some Dacor ovens require the door to be closed before the oven probe operates. Test the switch for electrical continuity when activated and replace it if it fails. A dirty, corroded, or damaged probe receptacle can also prevent good contact, so inspect and clean the jack or replace the receptacle when necessary. Less commonly, the oven control board may be faulty. 01 - Dacor Range/Stove/Oven Meat Probe
The meat probe resistance changes with the temperature of the probe. If the probe shows an open circuit when tested with a multimeter, the probe is bad and will need to be replaced.

When the probe is plugged into the jack, the control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
Some oven meat thermometers will not function properly unless the oven door is closed which activates a door switch to alert the control board that the door is closed. If the door switch is defective, the oven meat thermometer may not work. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.
The meat probe jack or receptacle needs to be clean and making good contact with the meat probe. If the receptacle appears corroded or damaged, the component should be replaced.
When the probe is plugged into the jack, the oven control board monitors the food temperature from the probe. If the temperature probe and jack are good but the control board is not responding, the control board is likely bad.
