If your NuTone range vent hood light is not working, start with the light bulb or light assembly, which is the most common cause. Some NuTone range vent hoods use a replaceable light bulb, while others require the complete light assembly. If your range vent hood uses halogen lamps, one or more bulbs may be burned out even if the problem is not visible. Test each halogen lamp for continuity with a multimeter, or replace the bulbs. If a known-good bulb still does not light, test the light socket for incoming power. A socket that has power but does not illuminate the bulb is defective and should be replaced. Next, check the light switch and push button switch for continuity. Replace either switch if it fails the continuity test. Always disconnect power before testing or replacing parts in your NuTone range vent hood. Enter your model number to find the exact light assembly, light bulb, halogen lamp, light socket, light switch, or push button switch that fits your specific range vent hood.

If the vent hood light is burned out, replace it. Some manufacturers do not sell the light bulb as an individual part; instead, they require you to purchase the light assembly.

One or more of the halogen lamp bulbs may be burned out. Since it’s very difficult to visually determine if any of the halogen lamps have burned out, use a multimeter to test them for continuity. Alternatively, you can just try replacing the bulbs.
To determine if the light socket is defective, use a multimeter to test the incoming power to the socket. If the light socket has power, but the light bulb isn’t working, replace the light socket.
To determine if the light switch is defective, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the light switch does not have continuity, replace it.
To determine if the push button switch is defective, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the push button switch does not have continuity, replace it
