If your Electrolux range vent hood is turning on by itself, the thermostat is the most likely cause. Some Electrolux range vent hoods use a thermostat that automatically starts the blower when heat builds up in the hood, then shuts it off after the temperature drops. Check your owner's manual or wiring diagram to confirm whether this feature is present. If the blower or lights turn on and off randomly, a failing control board or main control board may have burnt relay contacts or an intermittent short. A worn touchpad can also close its circuit without being pressed, sending an unwanted signal to the control board. If some control panel buttons respond intermittently or not at all, the user control and display board may be defective. A shorted control module is less common, so test the control panel, switches, and touchpad before replacing it. Disconnect power before testing or replacing electrical parts. Enter your Electrolux range vent hood model number to find the exact replacement thermostat, control board, touchpad, or other part that fits your appliance.
01 - Electrolux Range Vent Hood Thermostat
If the temperature in the hood gets hot there may be a thermostat that will automatically turn on the vent blower until the temperature cools down. Check the owner's manual and /or the wiring diagram to see if your vent hood has this feature.

The control board has relays that send power to the fan and lights. If the contacts in the relays become burnt, or the board is shorting out, they may make contact intermittently. If the fan or lights are turning off and on the control board may be bad.
When the touchpad buttons are pressed a circuit is closed sending a signal to the control board. If the button is worn it can cause the circuit to close intermittently, turning on the hood.
04 - Electrolux Range Vent Hood User Control and Display Board
The buttons on the user control and display board may be only intermittently activating. To determine if the control and display board is defective, try pressing each of the buttons on the control panel. If some of the buttons are not responding correctly, replace the user control and display board.
05 - Electrolux Range Vent Hood Main Control Board
The main control board has relays that send power to the fan and lights. If the contacts in the relays become burnt, or the board is shorting out, they may make contact intermittently. If the fan or lights are turning off and on, the main control board may be bad.
The control module receives inputs from the control panel switches to turn the lights and blower on and off. If the control module shorts out, the blower or lights may go on and off randomly. Because this is not a common problem make sure the control panel and switches are tested before replacing the control module.
