Norge Washer won't stop

When your Norge washer won't stop, first check for water siphoning from the tub. The drain hose outlet may be too low, sealed tightly at the standpipe, or pushed too far down the pipe, allowing water to drain continuously and making the washer seem like it is stuck running. The hose should generally end 30 to 36 inches above the floor in a standpipe or laundry tub, depending on the model. If the washer drains normally but the washer keeps running, a defective control board is the next likely cause. Inspect the control board and main control board for burned areas or shorted components, although these parts are difficult to test. A failed timer can also cause a Norge washing machine to stop advancing through the cycle. Test the timer with a multimeter and the wiring diagram before replacing it. These checks can help diagnose a washer not stopping, a washing machine won't stop problem, or a washer stuck on a cycle. Enter your model number to find the exact replacement control board, main control board, or timer for your specific Norge washing machine.

01 - Water siphoning from tub

If the water is siphoning from the tub the outlet end of the drain hose is likely lower than the water level in the tub. The drain hose should terminate between 30 inches to 36 inches (77 centimeters to 92 centimeters) above the floor, depending on the model, in a standpipe or laundry tub. If the drain hose is sealed at the top of the standpipe or excess hose is pushed too far down into the pipe, siphoning can also occur.

02 - Norge Washing Machine Control Board

If the washer can successfully drain the water from the tub then a defective control board could be responsible for the washer not stopping. The control board cannot be easily tested, but you can try to inspect it for signs of burning or a shorted-out component to help determine if the part should be replaced.
