Dryer drum support roller kit. Includes two washers. When the drum rollers are worn out, they can cause the dryer to make a loud rumbling noise. Both rollers should be replaced at the same time. The roller does not need lubrication, the bearing is self-lubricating.

Dryer gas burner valve solenoid set. If the dryer does not heat or heats intermittently the coils could be defective. To test, watch the burner and if the igniter glows for a while and then shuts off without the gas igniting, it usually means one of these coils is bad.

The Whirlpool Dryer Cycling Thermostat WP3387134, rated at L155-25, regulates the temperature within your dryer. Signs that the thermostat needs replacement include inconsistent drying temperatures or the dryer running excessively hot. The WP3387134 is compatible with various dryer models.

Idler pulley wheel and bearing. If the idler pulley wheel and/or bearing is defective, it may cause the dryer to be excessively noisy.

Gas dryer sensor for igniter and flame. The sensor is located across from the gas igniter at the dryer’s burner assembly. This flame sensor should be closed for continuity at room temperature. Check for continuity with a multi-meter before replacing.

Dryer igniter with wire harness connecter. This is a flat-style igniter. The igniter uses heat to ignite the gas in the burner assembly. If the igniter is defective, the gas will not ignite and the dryer will not heat.

The Maytag Neptune dryer is a workhorse from an earlier generation — built tough, but after years of use, certain parts wear predictably. Thermal fuses, heating elements, drum rollers, and belts are the Neptune's most common repairs. We stock genuine OEM parts for the entire Neptune line, so you get the exact replacement your model needs.
Whether your Neptune is tumbling but not heating, making noise, or won't turn at all, the right part is waiting. Use your model number to find what you need — Neptune dryers are still spinning in thousands of homes, and we're here to keep them running.
The thermal fuse is the most common culprit — it's a one-time safety device that blows when the dryer overheats, and once blown, it must be replaced. Before you do, make sure your vent hose and lint trap are clear. A blocked vent forces heat to back up into the dryer, triggering the fuse. If your vent is clean and you replace the fuse and it blows again immediately, the heating element itself may have failed.
Squealing almost always means the drum rollers or idler pulley are wearing out. As they age, they lose their smooth glide and create friction — that's the noise you hear. The rollers sit at the front and rear of the drum; if one is bad, both sides should be replaced together to avoid the other side failing a few months later. The idler pulley should also be replaced at the same time, especially on Neptune models that have been running for years.
Look inside the door frame, on the top or side edge of the dryer opening — you'll find a model and serial number sticker there. It usually starts with "LDE" or "MDE" followed by numbers. Write down the full model number and enter it into the search box at the top of this page. That single number tells us exactly which heating element, thermal fuse, and drum parts fit your specific Neptune.
Absolutely. Neptune dryers were built in a time when durability meant something, and parts are inexpensive — most repairs run $50 to $150 in parts. A thermal fuse or heating element is a 20-minute job with the right OEM part. Even a drum roller replacement, while more involved, costs a fraction of a new dryer. Neptune owners who invest in the right parts typically get another 5 to 10 years of reliable use.

On Maytag Neptune dryers, look inside the door opening, along the frame or top edge, for the model and serial number label. If it is not there, check the back panel. Record the complete model number, including every letter and number, then type it into our model number lookup and the catalog narrows to parts made for your unit. This filters the full Maytag Neptune dryer parts selection, not just one category, so belts, rollers, heating parts, controls, and other associated parts are matched to the same appliance. Using the label information up front saves time, prevents mismatched parts, and helps you move from diagnosis to repair without sorting through models that do not apply.
