The GE WR9X489 is an OEM Defrost Timer for Refrigerators that manages the automatic defrost system in the freezer. It replaces several part numbers and it's important to reference the manufacturer or service manual before purchasing a replacement.

The GE Defrost Timer manages automatic defrost in the freezer. It has a dial that should be turned clockwise to advance it into and out of defrost. Disconnecting the appliance from all utilities is recommended prior to installation.
