Step By Step Instructions

Because of the high voltage and high current used by microwave ovens, be aware that repairing this appliance poses a substantial risk for injury or death if precautions are not taken.

You should always unplug the microwave before you attempt any disassembly.

To replace the control board in your microwave oven open the door and remove the screws securing the grill.

Slide the grill to the left to release it.

Next, remove the screw on the left securing the control panel and loosen the screw behind the panel.

Lift the panel up and pull it forward to detach.

Now note the location of the wires attached to the old board, then disconnect them.

You will need to lift up the locking tab to release the ribbon.

Remove the screw securing the grounding wire and set the control panel on a sturdy surface.

Now remove the screws securing the control board to the panel.

Lift the old board up and slide it out from the retaining tabs.

You’re now ready to install the new control board.

Position the new board on the control panel.

Secure with the screws.

Insert the ribbon into the ribbon connecter and secure the locking tab.

Realign the grounding wire on the control panel and secure it with the screw.

Now connect the remaining wires to the appropriate terminals on the new board.

Reposition the control panel

Tighten the screw behind the panel and replace the screw on the left.

Reposition the grill slide it to the right and replace the screws.

With the repair completed, plug the power cord back in and your microwave oven should be ready for use.
