Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the auger drive belt on your snowblower…
2
…first make sure the engine has cooled.
3
Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
4
We recommend you perform this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
5
Use a 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolts securing the belt cover…
6
…and pull the cover off.
7
If still intact, remove the auger drive belt from both the engine drive pulley and the idler pulley.
8
Carefully tip the snowblower forward so it rests on the auger housing.
9
Use the 3/8th inch socket to remove the mounting bolts securing the frame cover.
11
Use a 9/16th inch wrench to loosen the belt retaining bolt so you can remove it.
12
Next, depress the drive lever and use a spring clamp to hold it in place.
13
You can now remove the belt from the auger drive pulley.
14
Lift the drive plate and pull the old belt free.
15
You’re now ready to install the new auger drive belt.
16
Feed the new belt under the drive plate and through the housing.
17
Loop the belt onto the auger drive pulley.
18
Remove the clamp to release the drive lever.
19
Reposition the belt retaining bolt and tighten.
20
Realign the frame cover…
21
…and replace the mounting bolts to secure.
22
Return the snowblower to its upright position.
23
Now align the new belt on the engine drive pulley and the idler pulley.
24
Replace the belt cover.
25
Rethread the bolts and tighten.
26
With the repair completed…
27
…reattach the spark plug wire and boot…refill the fuel tank…
28
…and your snowblower should be ready for use.
