Step By Step Instructions

Before you begin installing the tune-up kit components make sure the engine has cooled and the equipment’s on-off switch is in the “off” position.

We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.

Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug.

Use a 3/4 inch socket or spark plug wrench to help loosen and remove the old spark plug.

Before you install the new spark plug confirm that the spark gap is at manufacturer’s specifications.

This engine model requires a 26 thousandths of an inch gap.

Thread the new spark plug into the cylinder head.

Be careful not to strip the threads by over-tightening.

Attach the wire and boot to the new plug.

Now loosen the mounting screw to release the air filter cover and pull out the old air filter.

Install the new air filter by aligning it on the filter housing.

Reposition the cover and tighten the screw to secure.

Next, unthread the fuel tank cap.

Use a wire with a hook to pull out the fuel supply line and filter.

Use needle-nose pliers to help release the spring retainer and remove the old filter from the fuel line.

Install the new fuel filter by attaching it to the fuel line.

Secure it with the retainer.

Insert the filter and fuel line into the tank confirm that the line is fully extended then rethread the fuel tank cap.
