Step By Step Instructions
1
Before you replace the orifice plate gasket in your furnace first turn off the power to the furnace.
2
Unthread the retaining knobs securing the upper access panel and remove the panel.
3
Remove the screws securing the exhaust vent.
4
Detach the vent.
5
Disconnect the draft inducer motor wire harness and detach the pressure tube.
6
Use a quarter-inch socket or wrench to unthread the mounting screws securing the motor assembly.
7
Remove the assembly.
8
If still intact, remove the old orifice plate gasket.
9
Clean off as much residue as you can.
10
Install the new orifice plate gasket by aligning it on the motor housing.
11
Holding the gasket in place, reposition the draft inducer motor assembly on the plenum.
12
Thread and tighten the mounting screws to secure.
13
Attach the pressure tube.
14
Connect the wire harness.
15
Reposition the exhaust vent and secure it with the screws.
16
Replace the upper access panel by aligning the top edge first then thread the retaining knobs to secure.
17
With the repair completed turn the power back on and your furnace should be ready for use.
