You will need a 10 mm socket for this procedure.

Before you begin, confirm the engine and muffler have cooled.

Use the 10 mm socket to unthread the three mounting screws securing the muffler guard.

Set the guard aside.

Next, use the 10 mm socket to unthread the two bolts securing the muffler itself.

To install the muffler gasket, first insert the mounting bolts through the muffler, if required, then align the gasket on the bolts.

Position the muffler on the engine block and thread the bolts to secure.

Complete the installation by realigning the guard over the muffler and threading the three mounting screws to secure the guard to the engine block.
