Step-By-Step Instructions1
To replace the center right door hinge on this kitchenaid refrigerator, you will need a phillips-head screwdriver, a small flat-head screwdriver, and a t-25 torx bit.
2
Before you begin the procedure, unplug the appliance’s power cord.
3
Use the phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the screw to detach the hinge cover.
4
Now using the t-25 torx bit, unthread the two mounting screws securing the hinge.
5
Have an assistant help to hold the door in place, before you remove the hinge.
6
Now have the assistant help you to lift the door off the center hinge and set the door aside.
7
Use the small flat-head screwdriver to help remove the closing cam from the hinge.
8
You can now use the t-25 torx bit to unthread the three mounting screws to release the old hinge.
9
To install the new center door hinge, align it on the cabinet and thread the three screws to secure.
10
Fully seat the closing cam on the hinge post, and consider applying some additional lithium grease to the cam if needed.
11
Reinstall the refrigerator door by positioning it on the closing cam… then close the door and hold it in place.
12
Reposition the upper door hinge on the door and cabinet, and thread the two mounting screws to secure.
13
Realign the hinge cover and thread the screw to secure.
14
Be aware, if you need to level the door, you can insert a 1/8th inch allen wrench into the bottom of the center hinge post and rotate the post clockwise to raise the door or counter-clockwise to lower the door.
15
Plug the power cord back in, and the refrigerator should be ready for use.
