Crosley Microwave won't turn off

When a Crosley microwave won't turn off, keeps running, or the fan continues after you press Cancel or Off, a failed door switch is the most likely cause. Most microwaves use three or four door switches, including the primary, secondary, and monitor switches, that actuate in sequence when the door closes. A shorted door switch can allow the fan or other functions to keep running, even with the door open. If the switches test good for continuity, the user control and display board may not be registering the Off button. If some control panel buttons work while others do not, the touchpad and control panel or the separate touchpad may be defective. A shorted relay or triac on the main control board can also keep components powered after the microwave should stop.
