If your Husqvarna pressure washer is leaking water, the pump assembly is the most likely source. A worn or damaged pump assembly can leak from the pump, bottom of the machine, or internal seals. On a pressure washer that is more than a few years old and used often, replacing the complete pump assembly is usually the practical repair. If the pump is relatively new or used only occasionally, you may be able to rebuild it by replacing the pump seals, o-rings, and other worn internal parts. A damaged pressure washer pump can also require replacement if rebuilding is not cost-effective. Another possible cause is the thermal release valve. This valve may release hot water during normal operation if the pressure washer is left running without spraying, allowing water inside the pump to overheat. Turn the machine off when you are not using the spray gun, and never operate it with the water supply disconnected. The leak could be due to the normal operation of the thermal release valve. The thermal release valve allows hot water to exit the pressure washer if the water temperature becomes excessively high. If the pressure washer is left running while it is not spraying water, the water in the pump will begin to heat up. When the water temperature rises above the acceptable limit, the thermal release valve opens to allow the hot water to exit the pressure washer.
