Samsung Washer won't stop

If your Samsung washer won't stop, first check for water siphoning from the tub. The drain hose outlet may be installed too low, sealed tightly at the standpipe, or pushed too far down the drain pipe, allowing water to drain continuously and making the washer keep running or appear stuck on a cycle. The drain hose should generally end 30 to 36 inches above the floor in a standpipe or laundry tub, but check your model's requirements. If the washer drains normally, a defective control board is the next likely cause. Inspect the control board for burned areas or shorted components, then consider the main control board if the problem continues. These boards are difficult to test, so replacement may be necessary. A faulty timer can also cause a washing machine that won't stop. Test the timer with a multimeter and the wiring diagram before replacing it. Enter your Samsung washer model number to find the exact replacement drain hose, control board, main control board, or timer for your specific washing machine.

01 - Water siphoning from tub

If the water is siphoning from the tub the outlet end of the drain hose is likely lower than the water level in the tub. The drain hose should terminate between 30 inches to 36 inches (77 centimeters to 92 centimeters) above the floor, depending on the model, in a standpipe or laundry tub. If the drain hose is sealed at the top of the standpipe or excess hose is pushed too far down into the pipe, siphoning can also occur.

02 - Samsung Washing Machine Control Board

If the washer can successfully drain the water from the tub then a defective control board could be responsible for the washer not stopping. The control board cannot be easily tested, but you can try to inspect it for signs of burning or a shorted-out component to help determine if the part should be replaced.
