I have been fixing things with RepairClinic for years...washers and dryers mostly. But I was a little nervous about fixing my furnace. It was making a lot of noise, so I called the repair service I had used in the past. Mind you, this company has had my business quite often, and the repairman knows me pretty well. He told me over the phone to check the draft inducer motor for vibration/overheating. He then told me I could probably replace it myself a whole lot cheaper than he could (his estimate was around $500.00). He said if I was at all handy it was an easy repair, but to call if I had trouble. Just gotta say, most furnace repair companies won't do that for you!
Anyway, I took a shot with my friends at RepairClinic, and sure enough they had the part for less than $200.00, even with expedited shipping. I ordered the part on Saturday and it arrived Monday even though the delivery estimate said Tuesday...gotta love it. Btw, the old inducer died completely Saturday night.
The repair was simple - 3 bolts, a hose clamp, a small sensor, a vacuum tube and some wire connections. I found the box on my porch just after 3:00 pm and had it installed and running before I had to leave for work at 4:00 - I even had time to make and eat a sandwich! Furnace is working like new...Thanks, RepairClinic!
