Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the wheel drive belt on your snowblower first make sure the engine has cooled.
2
Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
3
We recommend you perform this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
4
Use a 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolts securing the belt cover.
6
Release the tension spring.
7
Now pull the idler pulley back to detach the wheel drive belt if still intact.
8
Carefully tip the snowblower forward so it rests on the auger housing.
9
Use the 3/8th inch socket to remove the mounting bolts securing the frame cover.
11
If still intact, detach the old belt from the drive plate, slide it under the friction disk and pull it free of the frame.
12
Detach the auger drive belt to fully remove the old wheel drive belt.
13
You’re now ready to install the new wheel drive belt.
14
Slide the new belt over the pulleys and under the tension spring then feed the belt between the frame and the drive plate.
15
Now slide the belt under the friction disk and position it around the drive plate.
16
Realign the frame cover and replace the mounting bolts to secure.
17
Return the snowblower to its upright position.
18
Align the new belt on the drive and idler pulleys and reposition the auger drive belt.
19
Reset the tension spring on the bolt.
20
Replace the belt cover.
21
Rethread the bolts and tighten.

With the repair completed reattach the spark plug wire and boot refill the fuel tank and your snowblower should be ready for use.
