Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace an auger blade on your snowblower first make sure the engine has cooled.
2
Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.
3
We recommend you perform this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
4
Use a 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolts securing the belt cover and pull the cover off.
5
Unhook the auger belt from the engine drive pulley.
6
Use the 3/8th inch socket to remove the bolt securing the front roller bracket.
7
Detach the auger drive cable spring from the idler pulley bracket.
8
Now use a half-inch socket to remove the bolts that secure the auger housing to the rest of the snowblower.
9
With the bolts removed, lift off the auger housing and rest the rear portion of the snowblower on its handles.
10
Secure the impeller and you unthread the bolt securing the auger drive pulley.
11
Remove the washer and the pulley.
12
Remove the pulley hub as well.
13
Next, unthread the mounting bolts securing the bearing holders.
14
With the bolts removed, you can pull out the auger assembly.

Slide off the bearing as well as the washer and spacer.
17
Remove the retaining clip securing the auger blade shear pin and pull out the pin.
18
Slide off the old auger blade.
19
You’re now ready to install the new auger blade.
20
If still intact, transfer the bushings from the old blade to the new one or install new bushings.
21
Slide the new auger blade onto the gear box shaft.
22
Insert the shear pin and secure it with the retaining clip.
23
Replace the spacer, washer and bearing and slide on the bearing holder.
24
If necessary, slide the impeller back onto the rear gear box shaft.
25
Reinstall the auger assembly by reinserting the rear gear box shaft into the auger bearing.
26
Replace the bolts to secure the bearing holders.
27
Position the pulley hub on the shaft.
28
With the belt aligned on the auger pulley, position the pulley on the hub.

30
Secure the impeller as you thread the bolt and tighten.
31
Before continuing the reassembly, we recommend injecting additional grease into the bearing holders to help prevent wear.
32
Now reposition the auger housing on the rear portion of the snowblower, making sure to align the chute on the chute adapter.
33
Rethread the housing bolts and tighten to secure.
34
Return the snowblower to its upright position.
