Step-By-Step Instructions1
If the fill tank is still intact on the side panel of the installed dishwasher, you can simply remove the lower dish rack and unthread the old retaining ring.
2
Install the new filter retaining ring by threading it into the fill tank.
3
However, if the fill tank has detached from the side panel, you will need to move the appliance a few inches away from the cabinet before you attempt this.
4
Be sure to turn off the power to the dishwasher and shut off the water supply valve.
5
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, unthread the two mounting screws securing the lower access panel.
7
Use channel lock pliers to loosen the elbow fitting securing the water supply line to the inlet valve.
8
Fully unthread the elbow fitting.
9
Be prepared for some water to spill.
10
Next, disconnect the drain hose from the sink drain or garbage disposer and feed it through the cabinet.
11
Open the dishwasher door and unthread the two screws securing the dishwasher mounting brackets to the cabinet or countertop.
12
To move the dishwasher, you may need to adjust the legs to lower the appliance.
13
Rotate the front legs clockwise to lower the front using the Phillips head screwdriver.
14
Rotate the rear leg adjusting rod counterclockwise to lower the rear of the dishwasher.
15
Now, gently pull the dishwasher a few inches away from the cabinet.
16
You can now replace the retaining ring by repositioning the fill tank in the side panel and threading the ring to secure.
17
Replace the lower dish rack.
18
Confirm that the end of the drain hose is accessible through the cabinet wall.
19
Then, gently slide the dishwasher back into the cabinet.
20
Extend the front leveling legs if necessary.
21
Rotate the adjusting rod clockwise to extend the rear leg.
22
Rethread the screws to secure the mounting brackets to the cabinet or countertop.
23
Feed the drain hose through the cabinet and connect it to the sink drain or garbage disposer.
24
Make sure the hose is elevated above the connection point.
25
Thread the water supply line elbow fitting onto the inlet valve port and tighten.
26
Realign the lower access panel and rethread the screws to secure.
27
Turn the water supply back on, as well as the power, and your dishwasher should be ready for use.
