Step-By-Step Instructions1
As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning.
2
Your first step is to remove the screws at the bottom of the front panel.
3
Now, rotate the panel out from the bottom to release the clips at the top.
4
Noting their location, disconnect the wires from the door switch as well as from the retaining clip on the panel and set the panel aside.
5
Release the wires from the front bulkhead.
6
Next, remove the screws to release the front bulkhead from the cabinet.
7
Reach under the drum and push the idler pulley up to release the belt tension.
8
Unthread the belt from the pulley and motor shaft and pull the belt out.
9
Now lift out the drum to access the support rollers.
10
Use snap ring pliers to release the snap ring then pull off the washers and roller.
11
Now use a 9/16th inch wrench to secure the nut while using pliers to help unthread the old axle.
12
Install the new roller axle by positioning the nut behind the hole in the bulkhead and thread the axle into it.
13
Secure the nut with the wrench and use the cloth and pliers to tighten.
14
Slide one of the washers onto the axle followed by the roller.
15
Slide the second washer on and secure with the snap ring.
16
Replace the drum by aligning its rim on the two support rollers
17
Slide the belt over the drum, flat-side down and loop the belt around the pulley and motor shaft in a zig-zag formation.
18
Now rotate the drum to help align the belt.
19
Position the front bulkhead and secure it with the screws.
20
Secure the door switch wires on the retaining clips of both the bulkhead and the front panel then reconnect the wires to the door switch.
21
Position the front panel clips under the lip of the main top and rotate the panel into place.
22
Secure it with the mounting screws.
